ADVENTURE ON THE HORIZON is a middle-grade, Science Fiction book that clocks in at about 50,000 words.

Twelve year old Wesley Moore desperately wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, Captain Buster Moore, the famous space ranger. To do that he must first get accepted into the Junior Exploration Training (JET) Academy to begin his training. And second, he must stay out of trouble, which is proving to be a lot harder than it sounds.

When Wesley tries to save his alien pet from a government facility, he finds himself confronted by his nemesis Harris Donovan, whose Dad happens to be the Space Commissioner. Harris would love to see Wesley rejected by the academy and threatens to tell on him. To try and keep Harris quiet, Wesley and his best friend Izzy, sneak onto his Dad’s spaceship, the Horizon, for a tour.

An unscheduled launch sends the kids into outer space. Captain Buster Moore was certainly angry when he discovered the unauthorized delinquents on his ship, but he would have to deal with them later. They were under attack by an alien race known as the Thorg. Their spaceship is captured and Wesley’s Dad is taken prisoner. Wesley must try to save his Dad. The three kids put their heads together to come up with a rescue plan that just might be dumb enough to work.
